Lady Barron Port Services Tariff Review

As part of its pricing review towards a simplified state-wide pricing model that would be implemented over a four year period, Tasports has reviewed pricing at Lady Barron Port Flinders Island.

Tasports has now finalised the Flinders Island pricing schedule for the 2013/14 financial year, which will come into effect from 1 August, 2013. The attached scheduled charges reflect a general increase of 1.5% on port charges while the price for cattle and small stock has been adjusted further consistent with the approach for a state wide pricing model.

Despite Tasports again facing very difficult trading conditions and a continued deterioration of the market environment during 2012/2013, it has continued to invest substantially into its ongoing maintenance and strategic infrastructure programs ($16 million in 2011/12) whilst achieving further efficiency and productivity gains.

With financial assistance from the State Government, this has seen a significant upgrade of the Lady Barron Port Facility with redevelopment works scheduled for completion in August 2013. Our primary focus remains to deliver a high standard of customer service, meet your operational requirements and where possible, facilitate further growth in your business.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions in relation to these charges.

Yours sincerely,

Kevin Moore
