Despite reports to the contrary, Furneaux Freight remains committed to continuing a reliable, safe and efficient shipping service to the communities of both Flinders and Cape Barren Island.

 

Since 2010 Furneaux Freight has invested over ten million dollars in providing the Islands with a consistent and proficient service.

 

Furneaux Freight is a proud employer in regional Tasmania.

 

Furneaux Freight have given Tasports notice that it no longer will conduct stevedore activities at the Port of Lady Barron which is owned by Tasports but it remains committed to continuing a reliable, safe and efficient shipping service to the communities on both Flinders and Cape Barren Islands.

 

Furneaux Freight remains ready willing and able to continue the shipping service to the Islands.

 

Furneaux Freight would like to meet with the stakeholders to resolve any current issues. At the current time Furneaux Freight are yet to hear from any Government Department, Minister or Councillor to discuss options for the operation of the Lady Barron Port to ensure continuation for service post 28th of September.
